What is Digital Object Architecture (DOA)?

Digital Object Architecture (DOA) provides efficient digital information management in a network environment. It has the capability to create persistent digital identifier (DOI) for any type of objects (physical or digital) such as digitalized/Physical version of paper,movie, and phones….etc. Each digital identifier is associated with metadata to describe the object. These metadata could be design to meet the user needs to retrieve information of that object over long period. The Metadata may include access restrictions, ownership notices, and other more to provide efficient security .

The DOI is resolved by binding DOI to metadata about the object to indicate where the object can be found such as a URL. Thus, it makes the DOI actionable, interoperable, and distinguished from other identifier schemes.
